The University of York is a member of the Russell Group and ranks consistently as a UK top 20 university. Impressively, York is one of few universities formed during the last 60 years to join the world’s elite 100 universities.

The city is also home to a second higher education institution, York St John University.  This university was founded in 1841 and has over 6,000 students from over 60 contries

Although tourism and the services sector play a major part in York’s economy, graduates can expect to find ample job opportunities in the STEM sectors as the city’s science and technology and engineering industries continue to grow at an impressive rate.
