How can a Chemistry graduate gain the edge in the job market?

As with most scientific degrees it is helpful if candidates possess commercial or postgraduate experience within their preferred discipline.

With a more general degree than some of the other Science subjects it can be useful to take specialisms within Chemistry - Organic, Inorganic, or Analytical chemistry all being examples.

What is the average starting salary for a Chemistry graduate?

The average salary for a Chemistry graduate in a job related to their degree is around £23,000. We work with employers from many different sectors but find that the most lucrative opportunities are often within the oil and gas sectors.
