Trainee Recruitment Consultant - STEM Graduates
£18,000 Basic Salary + Commission. (£28,000 realistic on target earnings in first year)
Hours: Core hours are 8:30 until 5:30 but it is likely that most consultants will work additional hours dependent upon the needs of their desk.
Location: Liverpool City Centre (Tempest Building opposite Moorfields station).
STEM Graduates is a recruitment agency specialising in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths graduate recruitment.
We have developed a popular website and social media presence that has given us a market leading position within our niche sector. It is a privately owned business with a team of 6 and we are looking to expand.
All recruitment is permanent and we target start-up firms and SMEs with specific hiring needs. We act as the sole graduate recruitment agency for many of our clients.
We currently have an opportunity to introduce graduates to permanent positions with start-up and SME employers.
Our vacancies are UK wide and often begin with an internet based candidate search targeting a specific degree course. As a result each consultant splits their time between outbound new business calls, candidate searching and conducting phone based interviews to qualify graduates for roles.
It is common for trainees to focus on new business tasks during their first few months before moving into a full consultant position. Experienced consultants are likely to combine client and candidate tasks upon joining our company.
Our consultants do not "meet" our candidates and we regard ourselves as a search focussed recruitment consultancy rather than a high street recruiter.
This means that the majority of our time is spent working from our office. But don't let that put you off. Our building contains a rooftop garden, record breaking mural, basement café and is within walking distance of many shops, restaurants and bars!
We aim to recruit individuals who are innovative, engaging, capable of developing an insight into our markets and who can work efficiently to achieve outstanding results.
Our working environment is supportive, offering guidance, regular appraisals and encouraging staff to take responsibility for their recruitment desks. We tend not to "micro manage" new hires and in turn we expect new starters to be driven, focussed and committed to their role.
We may not offer a formal training programme but instead we form a close knit team and trainees learn from experienced consultants. It is likely that our next hire will be the "second" consultant on a growing, established desk. Our staff also benefit from working alongside a hands-on Owner/Director. It is common for all staff members to enjoy Friday pub lunches and tenant socials together.
Graduate calibre candidate with the confidence and ability to make outbound sales calls. We value consultants who can gain a detailed insight into each vacancy so that roles can be prioritised.
Excellent academics. Realistically we look for ABB at A Level and a First or high 2.1 from university (any subject).
Candidates with sales experience who have targeted decision makers within a professional environment will have an advantage but this is not essential.
