An expanding Medical Education and Communications company is looking for graduates in the biological science sector to join their company as an Editorial Assistant.

The company pride themselves on the quality of their written work and are passionate about improvement patients lives in healthcare. The company are part of a larger organisation that are highly regarded in the medical world with physicians and nurses and other healthcare practitioners.

The publications team provide multimedia content that supports healthcare professionals to improve patient care. This role involves working on a variety of different media platforms and reading / writing tasks related to medical communications and education. The company provide excellent training and mentoring to their staff as well as a good benefits package too.

The Editorial Assistant will be responsible for the quality and accuracy of scientific materials produced by the company. You will be required to proofread all projects throughout all its stages of production, and assist with writing copy including sponsored emails and author briefs. You will also be involved with a variety of projects including algorithms, digital projects, email alerts, webinars etc.

  • Ensuring the quality and accuracy of all materials produced
  • Fact checking, proofreading and commissioning content
  • Learning and following in house style processes
  • Writing news and social media posts
  • Updating and managing databases
  • Uploading content on the website and laying out copy on InDesign

Job Requirements:

  • A 2:1 or above in a Biological / Medical / Pharmaceutical Science degree, or a Masters
  • Excellent proof reading and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and ABPI Code of Practise is advantageous
  • InDesign and Webvision skills would be desirable, but not essential as full training is given
