Research Scientist - Microbiology

Job Location: South Wales (commutable from: Swansea, Cardiff, Port Talbot, Llanelli etc.)

Job Salary: £22,000 - £23,000

We are currently working with a contract manufacturing laboratory company in South Wales who are on the look out for Microbiology related graduates to join their expanding team.

The position is situated within the R&D department, specialising in microbiology. Ideally, they are looking for someone with some industrial experience, either from a university placement, from an MSc project or through practical laboratory experience. The company offer a supportive and welcoming working environment

Job duties:

• Working with a range of biological samples
• Analysing microbiology samples for numbers and types of organism present
• Using molecular techniques to identify various organisms
• Working on ongoing research projects
• Working to laboratory standards and regulations

Job Requirements:

• A 2:1 or above BSc or MSc in a Microbiology or Biology related degree
• Previous laboratory experience from a placement or industry would be extremely advantageous
• Interest in R&D and Microbiology
• Proactive in nature with good time management skills
