Laboratory Team Leader - Chemical Analysis

Job Location: Northamptonshire (commutable from Northampton, Brixworth, Kettering, Wellingborough, Corby etc.)
Job Salary: £23-27k dependent upon experience, opportunities for progression
Job Details: Full Time, permanent

We are currently working with a well-known material testing company in Northamptonshire who are looking to hire an experienced Laboratory Team Leader as soon as possible.

The company are well established and have been operating for almost 100 years now, serving customers worldwide. They have a positive history of hiring and progressing candidates throughout the company, offering good benefits and training opportunities.

Job Duties:

As a Laboratory Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising a laboratory team, ensuring laboratory work is carried out to deadlines in a safe way, in accordance with the company's health and safety and the ISO 17025 quality system.

· Team performance management

· Driving continuous improvements

· Managing workload and workflow

· Working with different departments to establish deadlines and allocate testing

· Organising and authorising purchases for laboratory stock and chemicals

· Implementing training plans for new and current staff

· Ensuring good laboratory housekeeping is carried out

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in a Chemistry, Material Science or Forensic Science related subject
  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar position, managing people in a laboratory environment
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Flexibility to work your set contracted hours between 7am - 7pm
