Laboratory Calibration Assistant - Quality Assurance
Job Location: Northamptonshire (commutable from Northampton, Brixworth, Kettering, Wellingborough, Corby etc.)

We are currently working with a well-known material testing company in Northamptonshire who are looking to hire a Chemistry or Materials Science related graduate to start as soon as possible within their Safety Product Testing department.
The company are well established and have been operating for almost 100 years now, serving customers worldwide. They have a positive history of hiring graduates and progressing them throughout the company, offering good benefits and training opportunities.
Job Duties:
The company's quality department are responsible for implementing and maintaining the quality systems within the group. They operate three formal Quality Management Systems within the business, EN ISO/IEC 17021-1: 2015, EN ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 and EN ISO/IEC 17065: 2012. Activities include testing a wide range of consumer goods and PPE which requires calibration on a large range of specialised equipment.
- Review and validate existing calibration procedures used for internal calibration of equipment, ensuring current methods cover all requirements
- Creating uncertainty of measurement budgets for internally calibrated equipment
- Coordination of internal and external proficiency testing
- Creation of validation data for software used relating to internal calibration activities.
Job Requirements:
- A degree in a Chemistry, Material Science or Forensic Science related subject is advantageous
- Competent with Word and Excel
- Experience of producing documents in accordance to quality management systems is advantageous but not essential
- Highly organised and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication, social and organisational skills
