Summary of Role
The User Technology Engineering team is responsible for the design, development and delivery of the User and Office Technology components and associated capabilities that provide optimized and secure access to corporate services and information resources. With strategic focus on User/Office Platforms, Systems, and Software ensuring that mission critical environments, services and capabilities are delivered in accordance with business expectations. Responsible for applying standard solution development and engineering principles to facilitate corporate growth and development.
The Role
- Define and implement solutions
set within architecture framework - Manage technology and processes
that are responsible for the firm’s Windows 10 image - Change management review of OS
image and application changes - Collaboration with stakeholders
to ensure the organisation’s User Technology solutions are implemented,
maintained and monitored to agreed policies and industry best practice. - Definition and maintenance of
the MS Office suite to firm’s agreed standards - 3rd line analytical problem
solving to support Service Delivery SLA’s - Ensure the Windows 10 image,
and any data that resides on it, remains secured - Creation of high-quality
technical documentation and training material - Conduct regular Business
Continuity Testing to ensure agreed recover times can be achieved and access to
firm’s applications and resources is maintained
The Requirements
Competencies required:
- Technical engineering skills
- Communication, both verbal and written
- Team working and collaboration in a global team
- Self-motivated
Candidates will be working with User Technology solutions routinely and understanding of these technologies is useful. User Technology solutions include, but are not limited to:
- Active Directory and Group Policy Management
- SCCM – Image Build, OS Deployment, Task Sequences, Software Distribution, Asset Management
- Windows 10 and MS Office 365 suite
- Software packaging standards utilizing MSI and App-V technologies
- Scripting skills to complement user technology management technologies
- Desktop Virtualization technologies and platforms – including Citrix XenDesktop, Terminal Services and appropriate hypervisors
- Application Virtualization technologies and platforms – App-V and Citrix XenApp
- Remote access portal solutions – Client VPN’s and MS Direct Access
- Application Virtualization technologies and platforms – App-V and Citrix XenApp
