Our client is a leading manufacturer of high value specialist lubricants to a diverse customer base, including process manufacturing industries, aerospace, automotive, food, paper, energy and steel, pharmaceutical and mining. They are looking for a Chemistry BSc or MSc graduate to join their growing team in a Graduate Lab Chemist position.

The Graduate Lab Chemist will be an integral part of the laboratory team working primarily on the customer service sample analysis. The sample types are diverse and include industrial process oils, automotive lubricants, soluble metal working fluids, water samples and greases. The analysis may perform part of condition monitoring activity, competitor bench marking, production plant process verification and ad-hoc samples for example complaint investigations.Duties include:

• analysis of samples from customers
• reporting / interpretation of the findings
• scheduling and planning sample analysis
• Communicating the results to customers
• Supporting the calibration and planned maintenance programs
• Maintaining a clean and tidy lab environment

Job Requirements:

• A BSc or MSc in Chemistry or a related subject
• Laboratory experience from university is desirable
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise workload and pay great attention to detail
