We are currently working with a leading supplier of packaging solutions in Kent, who are looking for an Environmental or Science related graduates to join their team in a new and exciting Environmental, Health and Safety Assistant job.
Our client is committed to bringing graduate level talent into their company and offering training and mentorship throughout. You don't need to have had relevant experience in industry, but just a keen work ethic and an aptitude to learn through training.
You will be involved with assisting the Health & Safety Manager with day-to-day duties in the department, and meeting health, safety, environmental and ISO 9001 compliance requirements.
The role also includes:
- Ensuring completion of Sustainability and Environmental Reporting,
- Review and interpretation of air emissions data,
- Waste management program review and improvement,
- Auditing,
- Incident Investigation,
- Working with external companies for emissions compliance monitoring, and
- A focus on Health and Wellbeing, allowing the right person wide ranging scope to show creativity for initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of staff on site.
The right person for this opportunity will be looking to work in an environmental/sustainability/safety role and have either an Environmental based or related degree (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Energy, Geography, or other science subject).
Training and development will be given, however experience working in an Environmental or Health and Safety Role, or with ISO standards, or six sigma or other operational excellence experience, or some knowledge of environmental, safety or sustainability principles and legislation would be beneficial.
Effective communication skills, strong organisation skills, ability to work to tight deadlines, ability to maintain confidential information, and good current IT skills using typical Microsoft office applications are essential.
