The city offers a rich architectural history, a cosmopolitan feel and a relatively low cost of living, making Leicester’s two universities popular choices among students.

Outstanding Universities

The University of Leicester is ranked within the UK’s top 30 universities and prospective Computer Science students will require ABB at A-Level or equivalent.

Leicester is also home to De Montfort University, which ranks in and around the UK’s top 50 and offers a range of Computing oriented courses. Notably, De Montfort University has a strong emphasis on student networking projects with the aim of improving local communities.

According to a June 2015 report by Experian, Leicester has the strongest GVA in the East Midlands at £15.3bn.
