The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) was created to support the advancement of mathematical knowledge and its applications, whilst promoting and enhancing mathematical culture in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, for the public good. It is the professional and learned society for qualified and practicing mathematicians. It has a membership of around 5000 mathematicians from all sectors, as well as those with an interest in mathematics.

They provide a focus for the ideas and activities of the ECM Group, and to engage, empower and mobilize its membership in supporting the IMA's charitable aims of promoting Mathematics.Be part of Interest Groups: IMA Special Interest Group is a set of people with an interest in a particular area of mathematics, such as Systems and Control Theory Group.
